U.S. Courts Cybersecurity Breach information for U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas

Thursday, January 7, 2021
Dear Bankruptcy Practitioners,

An important message from the Administrative Office of the United States Courts regarding the recent disclosure of widespread cybersecurity breaches of both private sector and government computer systems is provided at www.uscourts.gov.

Please know that the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas does not electronically docket secret or confidential matters filed under Bankruptcy Local Rule 9018 into CM/ECF.  The local rule provides the procedure for obtaining an order to file documents under seal and for presenting the sealed documents in paper format to the Clerk’s office.  As such, the Court does not intend to establish any new procedures regarding sealed or Highly Sensitive Documents, if any, at this time.

Additional information will be posted to the Court's website at www.txwb.uscourts.gov  if issues related to the cybersecurity breach develop that impact local processes or procedures.

Please contact Rob Lawson at 210-278-5720 or rob_lawson@txwb.uscourts.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Best regards,

United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas
