IMPORTANT: Action Required. Texas Western Bankruptcy NextGen CM/ECF is live effective November 16, 2020

Thursday, October 15, 2020

The Texas Western Bankruptcy Court will soon upgrade its Case Management/Electronic Case Filing System (CM/ECF) to the Next Generation of CM/ECF (NextGen).  The basic software functions just as it does currently, so e-filers should find few, if any, differences with the docketing process once logged into NextGen CM/ECF.

This upgrade, however, provides users with several new benefits.  One of these benefits is Central Sign-On, a login process which allows e-filers to use one PACER login and password to access any NextGen court (district, appellate and bankruptcy) in which they practice.

The Texas Western Bankruptcy Court is planning to implement NextGen CM/ECF on November 16, 2020.

As a prerequisite to NextGen CM/ECF, attorneys and other authorized e-filers must obtain their own PACER account and upgrade it.  Your PACER account is your login to CM/ECF, and therefore you MUST have your own individual PACER account.  E-filing attorneys are not able to use shared PACER accounts.  Please review the document attached to this email or click the PACER link below for more information regarding how to upgrade your existing PACER account or how to register for a new PACER account.

After upgrading or obtaining your PACER account, you must then link your PACER account to your current CM/ECF account on or after November 16, 2020.  You will not be able to link your account before November 16, 2020.   For additional information on linking your PACER account to the court's local CM/ECF, please visit  https://www.txwb.uscourts.gov/linking-pacer-account-nextgen.

Note: Not all courts have implemented NextGen CM/ECF. If you file in courts that have not converted to NextGen, you must continue to use that court's CM/ECF login and password until they implement NextGen CM/ECF. To see the current status for courts, click here.
