The Wireless Courtroom:
![]() The Western District of Texas has set up a wireless communication network for its courtrooms in the Austin, Waco, and San Antonio Divisions. If you have a laptop computer or a tablet pc with a wireless local area network (lan) card, you should be able to utilize this service. There are several different protocols available for wireless networks. The Court system utilizes what is known as 802.11g. The important thing to know is that there are also 802.11a and 802.11b systems. The “g” wireless card is backwards compatible with a “b” system. An “a” wireless card however is NOT compatible with a “g” system. So you will need an 802.11g wireless lan card. |
