BANKRUPTCY FORM CHANGES EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 2015
Official Bankruptcy Forms will be replaced with substantially revised, reformatted, and renumbered versions effective December 1, 2015.
The new forms are part of a national forms modernization project begun in 2008. Notably, the new forms introduce different versions of case opening forms for individual debtors and non-individual debtors. They are designed to be easier to understand and work with scheduled enhancements to the bankruptcy courts’ electronic filing system (CM/ECF).
The following official forms change: 1, 2, 3A, 3B, 4, 5, 6 Summary, 6 Declaration, 6A-J, 8, 9A-I, 10, 10A, 10S1, 10S2, 11A, 11B, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16A, 16C, 16D, 17, 18, 19, 22A1 through 22C2, 23 and 27.
Most director’s bankruptcy forms (current forms 13S thorough 283) will also be replaced by updated and renumbered versions on December 1, 2015.
Use of the new forms will be mandatory for all new case filings as of Tuesday, December 1, 2015. If you use case filing software, ensure that you install the requisite updates from your software provider.*
Reminder for Texas filers, as this will be a foreclosure Tuesday, make the necessary arrangements to file new cases using the updated petition forms so that your case can be processed as provided.
*CINGroup’s EZ-Filing software will no longer be updated or supported after November 30, 2015. See http://go.cingroup.com/ezfilingtransition.
